A book on the '50s & '60s written by someone that actually lived on the 'edge' through our period (and survived).

A difficult kid regarding school, playing the hop, hangin` around in Soho, gettin` pissed and shaving everyday from the age of twelve in the hope he`d wake one morning with sideburns like ol`Elvis Presley.

Nothing else mattered (nowt has changed) in his early life other than rock 'n' roll records and the burning ambition (long-since achieved) to be a ton-up boy.

Recalling his life and surroundings from birth in `48, through toys and hospitalised hardship to the fun he had at the local youth clubs, the Teddy-boy clothing, girls and music. One that went on to (and still does) ride British motorbikes and frequent roadside cafes.

All to the point that the book could just as easily have been dubbed, 'The Memoirs Of A Yobbo'. One who knew or cared about nothing else but music and coming as though a second nature, crafted a career from it.

The stories of early trips on record finding missions, dodgy flights, clearing warehouses, being mugged on various occasions along with awkward shop customers to the extreme - but somehow, always survived the trauma.
The best times are chronicled, you may even shed a tear of happiness as you look back over the years and recognise yourself through his witty, yet sometimes heartfelt scribings - all because of this wonderful, big book.

What do you get for your hard-earned money?

The truth from the author for a kick-off! A text of over one hundred and seventy chapters, plus nigh-on two thousand pictures! Early photographs of kids, girls, rockers, Teddy-boys, record labels, cafes, (the majority to date, unpublished) etc. Unbelievably, If something is mentioned in the book - in the majority of cases, a picture sits close by as proof.
